Tasting Notes

Malatinszky Noblesse Merlot 2013 BIO - Dry Red Wine is an BIO Merlot made for a longer journey, arriving with purple colour, plenty of fruit, earthy-mineral layers and a more serious posture. Structured and orderly, it is a unique interpretation of the variety. Its varietal character appears mostly in red fruits such as strawberry, raspberry and wild strawberry. It opens with a bright purple colour, already suggesting that the wine was made not for an afternoon walk but for a long journey. The palate has plenty of fruit, complemented by earthy and mineral notes. Autumn cooling was also delayed, so the picture among late harvests became more mixed, but the vast majority of wines showed extraordinary complexity, a cultivated acid set and great potential. Merlot is an international variety and one of the most obedient red grapes: depending on yield restriction and site, it can produce a light, acidity-focused siller as well as a full-bodied, tannin-rich, jammy and dense wine. Its texture and intensity remain within the range of elegance, without swings. Vegan wine. About the vintage: after a slow-starting spring, the year brought a beautiful, warm summer without extremes, and, which is increasingly rare, even rainfall distribution.

Food Pairing

A reliable choice with red meats and grilled dishes, as these food categories follow the wine’s structure well.
