Tasting Notes
Havas&Timár Syrah 2022 - Dry Red Wine is a spicy, darker-toned Syrah that gives a more serious red-wine experience with riper fruit, more characterful aromas and a more substantial sip. After pressing, the new wine was settled and the free-run wine was racked by gravity into new, second-fill and third-fill 225-litre barrels, where it matured for 24 months. Malolactic fermentation was also completed during the process. Only fully ripe, healthy fruit could go into the harvest crates after prior selection. Fermentation took place in open tank with manual punch-downs at low temperature, 22–23°C, over four weeks. When the time was right, the barrels were blended, and the wine was bottled without fining or filtration. It was further aged in bottle before release. This is our winery’s first Syrah, from an outstanding vintage.
