Havas&Timár Burger (Blauburger-Syrah-Kadarka) 2023 - Dry Red Wine is a more playful, spicy red blend that connects the character of Blauburger, Syrah and Kadarka in a fruity, lively form. Very few wineries bottle Blauburger as a single-varietal wine; it is usually blended, and this year we spiced it up a little further. After pressing, the new wine was settled and then matured reductively in tank after racking. Our goal was to make a light, fruit-driven, easy-drinking red wine. Malolactic fermentation was also completed during the process. Grapes with ripe brown seeds were already selected during harvest, and only flawless, healthy bunches could go into the picking crates. Fermentation took place in tank with manual punch-downs at low temperature, 22–23°C, over four weeks. After finishing, it was bottled.
Food Pairing
For food pairing, red meats and grilled dishes work well. The goal here is not to overcomplicate things: simply open it with foods that allow the wine’s character to come through.
