It has a deep purple colour leading into a pale purple rim. The first nose is led by intense dark fruit and spices — ripe blackcurrant, dark cherry, blueberry, liquorice, juniper and cocoa bean. On the palate, the use of oak is more evident through cinnamon and fine nutmeg spice, but it does not suppress the grape’s fruit or varietal character. A medium finish comes with great ageing potential. Despite its young age, it already shows complexity: violet, lavender and fine herbal eucalyptus notes appear. The sip is dense and structured, with medium body, ripe tannins and high acidity.
